You are in The Principality of Makovia Inferior !

A long time ago… at a time when all web pages were issued on paper, a Principality of Makovia Inferior was founded. It was inhabited by simple and pious folk, who loved nature and respected ancient rights. One day all the people met to merge their skills in a righteous purpose of covering their land with glory. The land of their ancestors has a particular might of bringing immense joy and good fortune to the eyes and souls tired of the bustle of city life, inviting them to rest in the shade of an oak.

The Principality of Makovia Inferior (Małe Księstwo Makowskie) is an association - an independent initiative, which aims are to improve the image and quality of the entire Makowski District. In the lands of our little homeland, we see the beauty of nature and landscapes comparable to other touristic areas of Poland. Our aim is to bring fresh, interesting view over the whole district, remind it’s unique former cultural diversity (polish - mazovian and kurpian, jewish and german), which attracts everyone, who was born there… We will seek the support of state authorities, local government and European funds. We would like to gather as many young and talented people from around the district - to help them develop their skills and abilities during work for the community. We are organizing wokshops, developing and supporting ideas. That is a concept of the Principality of Makovia Inferior.

The name of our association has been chosen after long deliberation, so that it could fulfill several important objectives. First, we wanted to have unique name which can be remembered easily. Second - it emphasizes our bond with Makowski District. "Principality" ("Księstwo") is an expression of great respect we have for culture, tradition and centuries-old history. It also reminds us the noble aims of our association. And finally, with the word "Inferior" ("Małe" - small) we want to convey that in fact we are humble people from small district of Mazovia and we have a sense of humor. The entire name sets the direction, which we are convinced to follow together.
